LMRC in association with the Industrial Information and Control Centre (I2C2) have experience in process and quality improvement for a range of industries around the world, including major works in the petrochemical and dairy industries. This work encompasses a wide range of approaches, including:
- Process simulation and modelling
- Multivariate data analysis
- Statistical process control
- Process Analytical Technology (PAT)
- Process instrumentation and sampling
- Data exploration and exploitation
- Improved visualisation of data, models and results
- Fundamental scientific exploration and laboratory techniques
The capability of this cooperation can be seen in one of our recent projects that have focused on milk powder production; this project focused on quality improvements in terms of ingredient dosing, and functional test properties - physical characteristics relating to end-user performance, such as dissolution behaviour or sediment levels, and improving these both across space (at different plants) and time (throughout the production season).
