2006 University Postgraduate Certificate in Light Metals Reduction Technology
The Light Metals Research Centre in co-operation with the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering at the University of Auckland holds the Post Graduate Certificate Course in Light Metals Reduction Technology in Dubai in November 2006. The programme includes a three week intensive course that is partly residential and includes visits to operating smelters for workshop discussions and practical examples of topics being taught.
Courses will be delivered by both academic lecturers and industry specialists. Individual courses can also be taken as non-award subjects. Entry into the Certificate programme requires completion of a relevant undergraduate degree or approved industry experience. The subject content for the Certificate Course is made up of four courses specially geared for the aluminium industry, namely:
- Electrochemical Engineering

Aluminium Reduction Process Operations
- The Light Metals Industry
- Materials Performance and Selection for Light Metals Processing

Enrolment for Certificate - 1st March to 30st September, 2006
Residential 3 week block -5th Nov. to 24th November, 2006.
