The Light Metals Research Centre is looking for motivated Engineering students to participate in several projects:
- Optimisation of entrained air ratio into the Shell Heat Exchanger.
- Physical modelisation of alumina dissolution and dispersion in aluminium electrolysis.
- Cathode wear testing
- Develop efficient procedure for Image Analysis of particles using code, probably MATLAB.
- Investigation of epifluorescence microscope technique for alumina/bath/fume characterisation
- Structural investigation of alumina
- Wear testing of cathode materials
