Fundamental Research Into Alumina

LMRC has a long history of research into alumina microstructure and developed the fundamental knowledge required to examine unconventional properties and their effect on the reduction and scrubbing processes. 
The latest fundamental alumina related studies that are currently underway in our labs are:

  • Evolution of alumina microstructure with calcination and its relationships with key bulk properties such as particle strength and pore characteristics
  • Studies on alumina dissolution and wettability of alumina in electrolytic bath
  • Investigations into HF scrubbing on secondary alumina 
  • Influence of alumina quality on pot operations
